What we do

Opening Doors provides tools and support for survivors of human trafficking, refugees, immigrants and other underserved residents. Our programs empower them to achieve self-sufficiency and reach their business and personal financial goals.

Our three main programs are: Refugee Resettlement, the Prosperity Project (which includes Small Business Assistance and Personal Financial Empowerment and our program for Survivors of Human Trafficking. The programs are interconnected. Often, after the process of resettlement, refugees or trafficking survivors will go on to start businesses with the help of Prosperity Project business counselors and loans. Or they will increase control of their personal finances in Prosperity Project’s MoneyWork$ program. Newly-arrived refugees and trafficking survivors often become neighbors and a support system for each other.

Our approach is to work with clients on a one-to-one basis, listening to them, and configuring individualized plans that build on their strengths and skills and maximize their personal efforts.
