What's New at ODI

ODI Monthly Newsletter

April

-20+ refugee clients resettled and connected to health, housing, ESL, and social security services from start of March through April.

- Started a marketing plan for new businesses

-Began Financial Literacy Program. Beginning classes will learn about the meaning of a dollar and basic things such as this. For the secondary level the students will be learning how to build up credit as well as the basics on starting a business.

- The Bosnian Elder Program grew to a total of 60 clients participating in the program.

-The Language Ally Tutoring Program began linking 4 volunteer tutors to new refugee families. Volunteers give 2 hours per week to aid in the new arrival of families from around the world.

-Opening Doors, Inc. will be participating at the Crop Walk Appreciation lunch and UC Davis Whole Earth Festival speaking about Human Trafficking on a global, state and local scale.

The most severe drought in a decade is fueling a grave food crisis in Afghanistan that now threatens millions of people with food shortages and possible starvation, reports Church World Service and ACT International.
